2. Principle

This website is deliberately built to be frugal. It loads no fonts, maps, videos or scripts from third-party servers. There are no cookies, no analytics and no advertising networks. That is also why there is no cookie banner: there would be nothing to consent to.

3. Visiting the website, server log files

When you open this website your browser transmits technically necessary data to our host's server, which stores it in log files: the page requested, date and time, volume of data transferred, a message about successful retrieval, browser type and version, operating system, referring page and IP address.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the technically faultless operation and the security of the website. This data is not combined with other sources.

4. Hosting

This website is hosted by STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. The server is located in Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with STRATO.

5. Enquiry form and contact

If you contact us through the form, by e-mail or by phone, we process the details you provide in order to answer your enquiry. In the form these are: name, e-mail address, optionally phone number, number of guests, desired dates and your message.

These details are not stored on the website. The form generates an e-mail to the host and keeps no copy afterwards. There is no database behind it.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry serves the initiation or performance of a rental contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Your enquiry remains as an e-mail in the host's mailbox until it has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations remain.

6. Guestbook

In the guestbook, guests can review their stay. We process the name you give, an optional place, the month of your stay, the number of stars, your text and your e-mail address.

Name, place, month of stay, stars and text are published. Your e-mail address is not. We use it solely to match your review to your stay and to write to you if anything needs clearing up.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, given when you submit the form. You may withdraw it at any time; an informal message is enough and we will delete the entry.

Entries are stored in a file on our host's server and remain there until you withdraw your consent or we remove them. To fend off automated submissions we count how many reviews come from one connection. The IP address itself is not stored, only a one-way checksum of it, which is deleted after 24 hours.

7. Spam protection

The forms contain a field invisible to humans and a timing check. Both serve solely to fend off automated submissions. No additional personal data is collected for this and no third-party services are used.

8. External links

Some pages link to external services, for example a map view at OpenStreetMap. These only load once you click the link. From that moment the privacy notice of the respective provider applies.

9. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Any consent given may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. An informal message to the address above is enough.

10. Right to complain

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent one is the Thüringer Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit, Häßlerstraße 8, 99096 Erfurt, Germany.

11. Encryption

This site is delivered over HTTPS, so your form entries are transmitted encrypted.
